Learning To Love Myself

It has been almost a month since my last blog post. I did not plan on taking a break, it just sort of happened and I am glad it did. 2015 was an eventful year for me and the different projects I am a part of. Soooo much happened, including starting this blog, that when December rolled around I was burned out. I felt like I was no longer being creative in any of my platforms and I just needed to take a step back from everything.

A lot went through my mind during the break. Should I quit blogging? What’s the point? How can I talk about self care when I don’t love myself? That last one caught me by surprise. How can I talk about self care when I don’t love myself? And here’s the thing, when I talk about self care I am in no way shape or form claiming to be an expert and definitely not perfect. I struggle just as much as the next person. But most importantly, I want to love myself. I want to learn to love myself. So researching about self care tools and trying them out for my posts is me learning how to do that.

Which leads me to my last point… It’s okay to take a step back every once in a while. A step back to rest, to reassess, to refocus. That is what self care is all about, taking time out of the day, week, month to care for myself and reflect. Reflect on how far I’ve come, and how much I’ve grown. It is all about learning to love myself one self care act at a time.

Hasta pronto,

Isha

  1. Nice blog Isha! I too can relate to being that loud and fearless girl as a teenager. Somewhere between kids and marriage, I feel less empowered. I’m working on it though. Have a wonderful day chica!:)
